Interview #16: KIDSAWCAT

Links   Insta Campsite Bandcamp Interview #16 1.    What pedal or instrument do you take for a mission to Mars? Just thinking, maybe we should restrain ourselves from ruining another planet... Anyway, I’d take my guitar of course, a Reverend double agent. It fits my needs and does the trick. Plus, I love to watch it, electric guitars are definitely the most beautiful instruments around, lol. Let me pack the Earthquaker Devices Avalanche Run Reverb&Delay as well. It’s been with me all along. It’s both an experimental device and does classic stuff too. 2.    What album do you take for a neverending moon travel? I love to listen through albums. It's a mindfull thing to do, taking the time to listen, to enjoy the artwork, the liner notes. I’d love to release a physical album in the future. ‘Lost in the dream’ from The War on Drugs is very dear to me. I’ve literally listened hundreds and hundreds of hours to this particular record. It’s a feel-good al...

Interview #15: THE DIMIDIUM AFFAIR

Links    Insta Linktree Bandcamp Spotify Interview #15 1.What pedal or instrument you take for a mission to Mars? When it comes to the instrument, the question is simple. I would definitely take my Ibanez FR1620 Prestige. This guitar can be heard in all my songs. The instrument inspires me every time. For the pedals it looks more difficult I think a multieffect or a reverb pedal; everything sounds better with reverb. What, is there reverb on mars? 2.What album you take for a neverending moon travel? That's a super hard question. I often listen to different music. If I really had to choose just one album, I think it would be 'Roads to Judah by Deafheaven'. That album opened up a whole new world for me after the first listen. The album brings me down when I'm stressed, but also pushes me up when I'm down. Somehow you drift into another world when you get into it. Simply ingenious, definitely listen to it. 3.What are your conditions, your habits or your inspiration w...

Interview #14: NON SOMNIA

Links    Insta Bandcamp Frozen Woods Records Bandcamp Spotify Interview # 14 1.What pedal or instrument you take for a mission to Mars?   On reflection, I don't think I could choose one. I would like to try all of them because on Mars the sound propagation is different than on earth, due to the different air density. But if I have to choose one it would be a piano, it's the instrument I have the most affinity with. 2.What album you take for a neverending moon travel? No doubt, Pink Floyd - The dark side of the moon. 3.What are your conditions, your habits or your inspiration when composing a new track? Well... This is a somewhat personal question. When I compose I never know how it will end. It usually starts with an idea in my head, a progression, some notes. I like to compare it to planting a tree. I plant the idea and build from there, not knowing how it will grow. I never force myself to finish anything if it doesn't come out the first time. I have a lot o...

Interview #13: LUMASTORA

Links Insta Website Bandcamp Spotify Interview #13 1.What pedal or instrument you take for a mission to Mars? It's not just one pedal but a combination. It's the Chase Bliss Audio Mood and my JN-1 tape machine modified by my good friend Nathaniel Gibson. Those two are a perfect pairing with the Hologram Microcosm. That combination is the essence of the Lumastora sound.  2.What album you take for a neverending moon travel? It would have to be the Jimmy Eat World album "Static Prevails".  That album has been such a huge part of my life and I can't imagine not having that album right by my side.  3.What are your conditions, your habits or your inspiration when composing a new track? I spend most mornings in the studio before I have to go to work. That's mainly when I will do my mixing of tracks and songs. The main day for creativity and recording is Sundays.  That's when I have the most time to sit down and get lost for a few hours in the studio. I usually ...

Interview #12 : AT THE GROVE

Links Insta Linktree Bandcamp Spotify Interview #12 1.What pedal or instrument you take for a mission to Mars? I would probably take my drums with me. A guitar would certainly be more comfortable.  But I'm mainly a drummer. That is what I would miss most. 2.What album you take for a neverending moon travel? Just one? This is difficult. I would like to put together a compilation. Or take your primary sound compilations with you. There is so much good music on it. But ok, if it really can only be one album: I would take Jeniferever's "Choose a Bright Morning" with me. That was my first post rock album. That's how I came into contact with this genre. I love the atmosphere of the record. 3.What are your conditions, your habits or your inspiration when composing a new track? It's totally different. Sometimes I jam on the guitar. Then a riff arises, around which I write a song. Sometimes I have a cool groove that I build on. Sometimes I'm inspired by the music ...

Interview #11: OREANA

Links Insta Linktree Bandcamp Spotify Interview #11 1.What pedal or instrument you take for a mission to Mars? This question is actually very relevant to me right now, because I've just moved to Dubai for 6 months, and sometimes it feels like Mars, especially with the desert landscape! I could only take one of my five guitars with me, so I actually had to make this choice!  Between guitars and basses, I chose a guitar because I'm still learning guitar and I thought it would keep me more entertained as I continue to learn and take lessons. Between my guitars, I chose my Gibson SG because I can change the tuning on it lol. I love my new Jericho, but it has an evertune bridge so I can't really change tuning between standard, drop D, and drop C, and sometimes I want to switch between the tunings for my guitar lessons, covers I'm working on, or my own songs. Spoiler alert tho- I couldn't live without my basses apparently and I bought one here for $100 like 2 weeks afte...

Interview #10: SIX DAYS OF CALM

Links Insta Linktree Bandcamp Spotify Interview #10 1.What pedal or instrument you take for a mission to Mars?   I think my Bass-Guitar and the Orange-Amp.  2.What album you take for a neverending moon travel? This Will Destroy You – S/T – it´s an all-time masterpiece! 3.What are your conditions, your habits or your inspiration when composing a new track? Oh, it´s not easy but I would like to say autumn, winter or spring, a good coffee, chocolate and above all an intense feeling. I need a lot of emotions to create a new song – without these deep feelings I`m not able to write any song. 4.Do you have any information to give us concerning a new album or a new track? No currently I can´t say anything…   5.Which artist would you like to work with? (musician, illustrator, movie director or composer) Christoffer Franzen. It´s such a genius and I love his wonderful work with “Lights & Motion”. I have no words for this exceptional talent for melodies, arrangements and ...
